Getting to Limerick from Shannon Airport

To get to Limerick city from Shannon airport, you may travel by car, taxi, or bus.

Taxi

The airport cab desk, located in the Shannon Airport Arrivals Hall, will organise an airport cab for you, wherever you need to go. It is open for all arriving flights. If you wish to book in advance you can contact the desk directly:

Bus

The public bus service with Bus Eireann runs from Shannon Airport to Limerick City (€8.40 one-way, €13.20 round-trip).


Car

The Limerick Strand Hotel is located along the scenic banks of the River Shannon, the hotel is easily accessible from all major driving routes including the N7 and N69, the new M7 Limerick to Dublin route is now complete, making Dublin just a 90 minute drive from the Limerick Strand Hotel.

There is an on-site underground car park at the hotel with over 200 spaces, 90 minutes complimentary car parking is offered for all guests. The car park chargeable at €1.80 per hour thereafter and this is capped at a total of €7 per 24 hrs. for residents & meeting delegates at the hotel.

Getting to Limerick from Dublin Airport

There are a number of commercial coaches going directly from Dublin Airport to University of Limerick.

  • Dublin Coach offers services from Dublin Airport to Limerick city. Coaches depart the airport every hour on the half hour with a stop at the Red Cow Luas Stop to change coach for the M7 Express Service Limerick city. Prices start from €15 per person one way.
